About the Brand

You want a photographer that elevates the day.

The Experience Comes First.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Created by Elyse Whall, Sunday Lately is rooted in the belief that every wedding day is its own story, one that deserves to be documented honestly, and remembered exactly as it felt. Full of life, candid moments, and an artful touch.

A thoughtful, seamless experience is at the heart of everything we do, with a high level of attention to detail and care for our couples at every step.

"ELYSE'S STYLE, POISE, and PROFESSIONALISM was EXACTY WHAT WE were LOOKING FOR IN A PHOTOGRAPHER.

— Ellis, San Clemente, CA

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

It was a pretty magical trip full of rösti, Swiss wine, “Sound of Music”-esque hikes, cow bells, crystal clear lakes, and villages straight out of a fairytale. On that trip, in a pub in the tiny car-free Alp town of Wengen over a glass of Hasseröder, and after photographing everything in sight, I decided to pursue photography full-time.

Storytelling has always been a thread in my life. Writing, reading, and theatre were a big part of my life long before I ever picked up a camera, and photography became a natural extension of that. A way to preserve not just moments, but the atmosphere surrounding them. A photo preserves feelings and creates nostalgia in that exact moment.

Serving people has always come more naturally to me than anything else. Photography is simply the way it takes shape. I’m instinctively drawn to helping people feel comfortable, confident, and seen and being invited into a wedding day is one of the greatest honors I know. It’s something I hold with a deep sense of purpose, and something I see as a way to give glory to God in the way I show up and serve.

Outside of work, my days are simple and full. You'll  find me baking fresh sourdough weekly, going on long walks with my golden retriever, Penny, or dodging Nerf bullets from my two wild boys.

I’m Elyse. Making people and brands look amazing is my favorite thing to do. It all began on a backpacking trip through the ragged green peaks of the Swiss Alps.

These photos are special to me. They’re imperfect, taken when I was just learning, but they bring me back to where my love for photography began. I have a feeling I’ll return someday and photograph it again.

STYLE

My work is a balance of refined and real. Editorial and documentary. Clean, intentional imagery paired with candid moments that unfold naturally, resulting in photographs that feel both elevated and honest. This combination keeps the focus on the atmosphere, the energy, and the feeling of being there. Both are necessary and create a collection of images that feel true to the experience.

APPROACH

I move through a wedding day with a warm, attentive presence. I guide when it’s needed and step back when it’s not, allowing things to unfold in a way that feels natural and unforced. I work closely with your planner and creative team so everything flows seamlessly, while you stay fully present in the experience. When shooting, I work similarly to a videographer, bringing in movement to make my couples feel natural and comfortable.

CLIENTELE

The couples I work with care about more than just how their wedding looks. They value intention, atmosphere, and creating an experience that feels meaningful for themselves and their closest people. They choose vendors that add to that experience rather than distract. They want captivating images that feel warm and true to life with a dash of editorial romance.
